Thanksgiving – a time for giving thanks and indulging in copious amounts of turkey, stuffing, and of course, pumpkin pie! In celebration of this joyous occasion, we are excited to announce our festive competition where fans can enter to win one of two signed shirts. It’s a fun way to add a little extra flair to your holiday wardrobe while showing off your Thanksgiving spirit! So, dust off your best turkey leggings, and don’t miss your chance to bask in some Thanksgiving glory!

Interestingly enough, while many folks are preparing to dig into their Thanksgiving feasts, Southern Indiana has been cooking up some interesting stats. According to a report from the vacation rental website HomeToGo, Nashville has seen a jaw-dropping 164% increase in searches for the Thanksgiving season! It appears this charming southern town has become this year's No. 2 trending spot for Thanksgiving celebrations, with folks flocking to embrace the warmth of this community-oriented holiday. Imagine sipping cider by the fire after a day of family fun and turkey trot, all while enjoying Southern hospitality!

And speaking of festive fun, one person’s take on Thanksgiving is sure to be enlightening! A local running enthusiast shared their experiences from a recent Thanksgiving Day fun run, highlighting how such events are vital for community bonding during the holiday season. They remind us that whether you're jogging or just jogging your mouth with turkey-cheeked laughter, Thanksgiving is the epitome of community spirit, connecting us through both food and shared experiences. It’s the perfect blend of gratitude and activity that stimulates a healthy dash of joy!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Awards Radar as we take a break from our usual entertainment coverage! Also, let's not forget that while Thanksgiving might mean a chance to face stuffings (the food kind) rather than reality (the movie kind), even our friends from New Zealand are hopping on the turkey train. AJC reporter Rosie Manins has fond memories of her first Thanksgiving turkey since moving to Atlanta—talk about a cultural cross-pollination!

What’s more, did you know that the tradition of Thanksgiving dates back to the early 1620s when Pilgrims and Native Americans shared a harvest feast? Fun fact: Thanksgiving was declared a national holiday by Abraham Lincoln in 1863! So this year, as you gather around the table, remember it's about more than just turkey; it's about celebrating our shared histories and the joy of community. Cheers to a feast filled with laughter, love, and a little competition!
