Everton's Historic Victory: Wolves Welcomed to the Goodison Park Coffee Shop of Pain!

Everton rediscover their goal-scoring superpowers with a thumping 4-0 win against Wolves! Who knew Craig Dawson had a secret career as a magician, making his own goals disappear!

In a stunning turn of events, Everton broke their five-match winless streak with a thunderous 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park. The night began with a lovely free-kick by Ashley Young, marking his 50th goal in the Premier League, making him the fourth oldest player to achieve this feat. But that was just the warm-up; it was two own goals from Craig Dawson that propelled the Toffees into a buzzing night after halftime, a wild game that left Wolves fans scratching their heads at the defensive blunders.

Everton's long-awaited scoring touch appeared to return as Orel Mangala, who previously had a VAR incident cutting short the excitement of a James Tarkowski goal, pushed through with gusto in the second half to help boost his team's confidence. Matt Doherty did his best to save the day for Wolves as he hit the post, but it seemed all hope was lost as the Everton squad seemed rejuvenated and filled with the energy that had been missing for so long. This game felt less like a football match and more like a game of musical chairs – and sadly, Wolves found themselves without a seat!

Manager Sean Dyche is surely breathing a sigh of relief after this emphatic win, which not only allowed them to score four goals but also highlighted their set-piece threat that could be pivotal in future matches. With a challenging fixture list on the horizon, which includes teams like Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur, it's crucial that Everton continues to build on this momentum. The footballing gods (and perhaps a few energetic cups of tea) seemed to have smiled upon them as they flipped the script on what had been a dismal run.

And who can overlook the player of the match, Ashley Young? Not only did he roll back the years to score his record-breaking goal, but he also solidified his status as a club hero amid the Baker Street fans. That free-kick was so perfectly placed, it could have sold tickets on its own! As for Craig Dawson’s unfortunate own goals, at least he can always remain a key player in the comedy section of football highlights. Let’s hope Everton keeps this energy alive, or else it may be time for the good old wooden spoon to make an appearance again!

In addition to this delightful performance, Ashley Young's goal makes him one of the very few players to shine beyond his 37th birthday in the Premier League — an age where most would be battling against the aches and pains of a footballing career. Meanwhile, Everton's connection between set-pieces and their attacking play has shown promising signs that might pose a real threat to upcoming opponents as they navigate the perilous waters of the Premier League this winter.
